In order to tackle the growing housing shortage in Guatemala, developer Modus Vivendi has launched a new project in areas of Guatemala City C3 and D1, where there is a high demand for housing and not enough supply to meet it.

Called Barrio Don Bosco, the new vertical housing complex will be located in Zone 8 of Guatemala City and will become the first development of its kind in the area.

The two 21-story towers will jointly deliver 24,000 square meters of space in a contemporary urban aesthetic. The commercial director of Modus Vivendi, Juan Manuel Alejos, said that the project is expected to cost approximately US$14 million.

The complex will offer 390 apartments in six different configurations, as well as commercial and amenitiy spaces on the lower levels.

The project plans to encourage the use of alternative transportation for its residents, but will also provide abundant parking spaces.

The steel building will be built using modular construction. The project is expected to take 24 months, and is expected to have robust measures to protect against seismic activity, as well sa special considerations for accessibility.
