Marriott International plans to open a Ritz-Carlton hotel in Belgrade, Serbia by 2027 on the historic site of the former Hotel Jugoslavija. The project is part of a €500 million (US$526 million) investment into a mixed-use complex that includes a 193-room luxury hotel, a 42-story residential tower, a 34-story office tower, a marina, and a promenade linking Nikola Tesla Boulevard to the Sava River.

The new Ritz-Carlton will feature over 1,700 square meters of event space and two high-end restaurants. Sustainability and innovation are central to the project, which aims to preserve the cultural identity of the site while transforming it into a global luxury destination.

Serbia's Finance Minister Siniša Mali celebrated the development as emblematic of the country's rapid progress, noting that the transformation of Belgrade into a hub of modern infrastructure and tourism will be showcased during the 2027 Specialised Expo, expected to attract millions of visitors.

Constructing the project, Millenium Team’s CEO Ivan Bošnjak described the development as an investment in Serbia’s future, poised to boost tourism, culture, and economic growth. The Ritz-Carlton Belgrade will solidify the city’s position on the global luxury map, representing a significant milestone in the region's development.

The signing ceremony for the project was held on 27 Noevember at the St. Regis Hotel in Belgrade Waterfront and attended by representatives from the Serbian government, Marriott International, the US Embassy, and prominent figures in business and tourism.

This announcement follows Marriott’s recent expansion in Belgrade, including the opening of a St. Regis hotel within the Belgrade Waterfront project. Additionally, Marriott's Moxy Hotels plans a second location in the city by late 2025, complementing the existing Courtyard hotel in Belgrade and a Sheraton hotel in Novi Sad.
