The project was first proposed in 2006, with construction starting in 2007. In the intervening time, it has changed ownership several times. It’s current owner, SVPGlobal fund, paid €60 million (US$71 million) to acquire the building’s debts from Sareb, which acquired tens of thousands of unfinished properties after Spain’s real estate bubble burst in 2008.
