In London, 21 Moorfields was topped out at 17 stories. Sir Robert McAlpine, the project’s principal contractor, celebrated with a ceremony held on the 13th floor.

Once complete, Deutsche Bank plans to house its 52,026 square-meter (560,000 square-foot) headquarters at the office building.

The project was built above the Moorgate Underground Station. Building on top of the London Underground facility was accomplished via series of piles and steel trusses.

The site was last developed in the early 1970s and has been largely vacant since 2003. Land Securities Group, the project’s developer, acquired the site in 2015 with plans to develop an office-led development there.

Project completion is anticipated for fall 2022.
