Ingka Centres, part of the Ingka Group, which includes IKEA Retail, has announced the development of Lykli Noida, its second "meeting place" in India. The complex represents a significant INR 5,500 crores (€607 million) investment and is expected to generate over 9,000 jobs in Uttar Pradesh. Set to open in a few years, Lykli Noida will feature a hotel, IKEA store, and offer retail, dining, co-working, entertainment, and cultural experiences. Located 15 kilometers from Delhi's city center, it aims to attract over 25 million annual visitors.
The project was launched at a groundbreaking event on 9 September attended by dignitaries, including Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He described the development as a major step forward in making the state a hub for modern urban living. Ingka Centres emphasizes sustainability, aiming for LEED Platinum certification and incorporating eco-friendly materials, renewable energy, water recycling, and waste minimization. Direct metro access, 4,500 parking spots, and 70 electrical vehicle charging stations will support sustainable mobility.
The CEO of IKEA India, Susanne Pulverer, said the project will enhance the home furnishing market and provide a unique retail experience in the region, contributing to the local economy and community development.
