Announced this month, a 60-story luxury high-rise in Toronto’s King-Jarvis Design District has been proposed by Amexon Development Corp. who is partnering with the renowned Italian fashion house Missoni. THe project, MISSONI SKY, is the fashion house's first foray into Canadian real estate. It will feature 795 upscale units, including 177 suites in a five-star boutique hotel located in an eight-story podium.

Missoni’s signature zigzag patterns and bold color schemes will be woven throughout the building’s design, infusing the interiors with the brand’s distinctive aesthetic. The luxurious residences will offer sweeping views of Lake Ontario and Toronto’s ever-expanding skyline. Alongside these visual elements, the project promises top-tier amenities such as indoor and outdoor saltwater pools, shaded cabanas, and fitness studios enhanced by curated art installations. This development aims to redefine luxury living in Toronto, offering residents an immersive lifestyle experience reflective of Missoni’s bold fashion ethos.

In addition to its design innovation, MISSONI SKY will incorporate sustainable technologies. Eco-friendly systems are a key feature to the development and include green roofs to reduce energy consumption, rooftop solar panels to supplement the building’s power, and EV charging stations for each parking space. Advanced mechanical systems will optimize airflow and filtration, ensuring healthier interior environments. The development’s eco-conscious approach further elevates its appeal, catering to the growing demand for sustainable luxury in the real estate market.

The high-rise wil be constructed on the former site of the Grand Hotel at 225 Jarvis, which was demolished in 2020, and had a previous design proposal of a 50-story high-rise for redevelopment on the site that was later canceled.

Scheduled for completion by 2029, MISSONI SKY represents a landmark collaboration between Amexon and Missoni, bringing high fashion into Toronto’s luxury real estate landscape. As a standout project in one of the city’s most vibrant neighborhoods, it will offer a unique blend of art, design, and environmental consciousness. The building is part of the continuing tall building development that has been making Toronto an example for vertical urbanism and smart densification in a growing city.
