High-Rise Boom in the Gold Coast Continues with New 33-Story Proposal
A new 33-story high-rise has been proposed for Broadbeach as the area continues its shift toward high-density development. Bassar Group, the developer behind the Infinity tower completed in 2023, has submitted plans to the City of Gold Coast Council for a residential tower at 19-21 Anne Avenue.
Designed by BDA Architecture, the building will feature 56 apartments, a pool, dining area, gym, and wellness spaces above the podium, with basement-level parking spaces. The project will replace the two-story Max Mar apartment block, which currently has eight units. The developer acquired the 1032-square-meter site in November 2023 for an undisclosed amount. The apartments will be adaptable for both short-term accommodation and permanent residences.
This proposal joins a wave of new developments transforming the Broadbeach skyline. With median apartment prices in Broadbeach reaching AU$920,000—up 6.4% over the past year—the latest wave of high-rise developments signals continued demand for luxury residences in one of the Gold Coast’s most sought-after neighborhoods.
