The YMCA of Middle Tennessee in Nashville will soon get a high-rise addition on its site. Located at 1000 Church Street, the building will be designed by Goettsch Partners who just revealed their plans for the project. The building is designed to have 65 floors and be 229 meters tall (750 feet tall). The façade of the project will be a pleated glass curtain wall that creates a crystalline peak at the top. The existing YMCA building will also be renovated and will gain a new façade as part of this project. The façade for the existing building will be composed of a flat glass on the ground and top levels while a pleated glass will be used for the mid-levels. This mid-section will help to visually tie the existing building to the new high-rise.

The developer of the project is Giarratana. They currently have a non-binding letter of intent with the YMCA. Once the details are finalized and the necessary approvals are received, the developers will purchase the land south of the existing YMCA building for the new project.

Construction for the project is planned to start in 2023. The renovation for the existing building should be finished by June 2024, and the high-rise building should be complete by January 2026.
