Developer Files 44-Story Slender Brisbane Tower Plan
A slender office tower has been proposed for a 911-square-meter site in Brisbane’s western fringe CBD. Proposed for 33 Herschel Street, the Bureau Proberts design for the 44-story office building is free of central columns, allowing for efficient and maximized floor plates.
Capricorn Asset Management Pty Ltd director Zhichao Liu has filed the plans after acquiring the site in September 2020 for US$9.25 million. A statement from the designer indicated that the design was created in response to the "undulating built fabric" of Herschel street.
A five-story podium will host retail and parking, while the remaining 39 stories will all be dedicated to office space. The space will be well-connected with the new Cross River Rail Roma Street station which is close by.
