Design Firm Chosen for Chatswood Tower Project in Sydney
An AJC Architects' design has been selected for a 24-story mixed-use tower in Chatswood, Sydney by the NSW government architect. Holding 86 residences, the stepped tower sits on a commercial podium and extends over two separate sites with low-rise apartment buildings.
The AJC Tower's concept is aimed at downsizers and multi-generational families, with about 30 percent three- and four-bedroom apartments presented as "high-rise houses."
TCL will handle landscaping for the project with plantings of large trees across terraces accessible to tenants. Coworking space and outdoor facilities will be included among the amentiies.
Developed by Truslan Group and Changfa Group, the proposal hasn't yet been submitted for development approval, but is set to be submitted in early 2023.
Also in Sydney, developers ICD Property and real estate investment firm Belingbak have begun a design competition for its redevelopment of 372—382A Pitt Street, with five firms invited to submit their vision for the site.
Also competing are Woods Bagot, Neeson Murcutt & Neille partnered with Bates Smart, Kelly Hill Architects partnered with Crone, Fitzpatrick & Partners partnered with Tonkin Zulaikha Greer, and fjmt studio.
Each will design and present their scheme CBD tower before a jury in January, 2023.
