Demolition is starting on the Shinagawa Goos building in Tokyo. The building was completed back in 1971. It was formerly known as Hotel Pacific Tokyo and in 2011 became a Keikyu hotel. Keihin Electric Express Railway has already announced plans to redevelop the site in a joint venture with Toyota Motor Corporation.

Shinagawa Goos is 118.8 meters (390 feet) tall and has 30 floors along with three underground floors. It sits at the center of a 23,023-square-meter (247,820-square-foot) site. Overall, the building has a total floor area of 82,736 square meters (890,560 square feet).

However, the asbestos removal for the building is scheduled for 15 November 2021 to 31 August 2022. Therefore, the demolition of the actual building may not start until after this period.
