HTA Design has been appointed to develop plans for a site in south London, which was once set for a 68-story skyscraper, designed by CZWG Architects

The London practice is working on new designs for the One Landsdowne Road site in Croydon, previously earmarked for a 236-meter-tall skyscraper providing 794 homes and 29,000 square meters of office space. Proposals for the site have been in the works for over 15 years.

The Odalisk (the former scheme) was first unveiled in 2008, and it included two "linked" towers at 35 and 51 stories. In 2012, CZWG won planning for a taller, 55-story proposal, which was also revised, then put back on the shelf.

New proposals will require a new planning application to Croydon Council and Greystar said it had begun preapplication discussions with the local authority to agree the scope of planning documents needed.
