Construction Starts on Mountain Inspired Project in Denver
Construction has begun on One River North in Denver. This would be the third completed or under-construction project MAD Architects have in America and their first American project outside of Los Angles. Their first Amertican project is condominium complex in Beverly Hills called Gardenhouse which completed in 2020. The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art was their second project which is scheduled to complete in 2023. Their project, The Star, was proposed for Hollywood, but it still waiting for city approval.
One River North’s form is largely a standard rectangular shape; however, it also features a non-standard gash that runs from the top to the middle of the building. This chasm references the nearby Rocky Mountains. It runs down a total of 10 stories and features sloped, landscaped walkways and water features. This landscaped crevice connects to the roof which holds a 633 square-meter (6,813-square-foot) terrace which included a pool, spa, and expansive gardens.
The project will provide 187 for-lease residential units. There are one-, two, and three- bedroom units that range from 58 to 230 square meters (625 to 2,500 square feet). All units will have floor-to-ceiling windows and a private terrace with views of the Rocky Mountain. The project is scheduled to finish in the later half of 2023.
