Construction at Cielo Condos in Toronto’s Annex is advancing, with the podium structure now taking shape behind the heritage Bloor Street United Church walls. Designed by KPMB Architects for Collecdev-Markee Developments, with ERA Architects overseeing heritage preservation, the 30-story residential tower is starting to rise.

Since February 2025, the second-floor slab has been completed at the west end, with modern concrete framing emerging alongside the retained Gothic Revival stonework of the building on-site. Scaffolding supports the heritage facades, and fencing secures the perimeter, while construction crews continue forming the structure's upper levels. The podium will feature curtain wall glazing, blending contemporary materials with historic architecture.

Progress is visible on McClure Hall, a future shared community space, with concrete walls and rebar outlining its interior. The setback entrance will integrate old and new elements, reinforcing the site’s historical significance.

Upon completion, Cielo Condos will stand 130.9m tall, adding 349 residential suites to the neighbourhood while preserving the architectural heritage of the Bloor Street United Church.
