The company’s next step will be to get approval from the finance committee of the town, and then from the regional committee.

Bestseller is planning a 320-meter skyscraper with 60,000 square meters of space. The structure will be one of the tallest buildings in Europe after construction.

Bestseller places a historical and sentimental value on the project, as the company, which has now become a global brand employing 15,000 people worldwide, was founded in the town in 1975. Despite the global success of the company, Bestseller remains a family business with a strong sentimental connection to its hometown. The current CEO of the company, Anders Holch Povlsen, succeeded his father, the company’s founder.

The project has hired two Danish firms for the construction and design of the Bestseller village and tower: Ramboll Group and Dorte Mandrup Architects. The project is being conceived as a small city-village. The plan includes restaurants, hotels, offices, retail stores and residences. The company’s billionaire CEO will be the sole funding source for the project.

The project manager of the Bestseller Tower, Anders Krogh Vogdrup, stated that “the project has been designed in a way to feel like natural part of the Jutland local community.” He added that “The construction of the Bestseller village will create value for the people in Brande and their colleagues. Danes are not particularly fond of tall towers in their cities; however, the Bestseller skyscraper ambition may open doors for huge commercial and social investment in the town of Brande.”
