Eversendai Corp passed a significant milestone in the construction of the One Za'abeel, a high-rise mixed-use luxury development in Dubai featuring one of the longest cantilever structures in the world.

One Za'abeel features two towers, linked 125 meters in the air by a 9,000 ton bridge, which will top the list of engineering marvels once it is completed by end of 2021.

Tower A is 330 meters tall and houses offices and a hotel; Tower B stands at 235 meters tall, and is primarily residential.

Eversendai said the first long section of the bridge, which is 192 meters in length and connects the One Za'abeel towers had been lifted to its final position, 100 meters above ground level a few weeks ago, in August 2020.

The lift was carried out over three days with more than 24 heavy-duty strand jacks being used for the lifting process.

Eversendai said the second lift will occur next month.

Eversendai executive chairman and group managing director Tan Sri A K Nathan said the company's engineering expertise with its innovative construction methodology was set to propel it to "greater triumphs" in the coming years.

"I am extremely proud of our excellent team of engineers and highly skilled workforce for their dedication and commitment in lifting "The Link" bridge safely and successfully adding to another historical Eversendai milestone achievement," he said in a statement on 9 September 2020.
