Brisbane’s Kangaroo Point Residential HIgh-Rise Increases Height
Plans have been filed to increase the height of an approved apartment tower in Brisbane's Kangaroo Point from 15 to 22 stories. The updated proposal, for the site at 51 Darragh Street, seeks to expand the development's residential capacity from 49 to 65 apartments, focusing on three and four-bedroom units to address a market gap in the area.
The Brisbane City Council initially approved the plans a year ago. The revised design maintains the original tower footprint and setbacks, aligning with the Kangaroo Point Peninsula Neighbourhood Plan and aiming to enhance river and city views. Over 73 percent of the site will be dedicated to recreation and landscaping, including tennis courts, a lap pool, and a rooftop area with a pool, lounge, and barbecue facilities. Parking will be increased to 115 car spaces and 111 bicycle spaces.
