J&T Real Estate (JTRE) has appointed VHS-PS, together with a consortium of Strabag Pozemné a inžinierske staviteľstvo and SYTIQ, to construct the extension to the Eurovea City complex on the banks of the Danube in Bratislava, which includes the construction of the 168-meter Eurovea Tower.

The contractors have been entrusted with the construction of the foundation plate and the reinforced concrete structure. VHS-PS began work on-site on 31 March 2020, with the consortium to follow within a few weeks. Groundwork began in mid-March 2019, when a construction pit, measuring 300 by 100 meters was dug to a depth of 14 meters. Construction work on the piles for the foundations is currently underway.

“We are reaching the stage in the expansion of the Eurovea complex when the structure will quickly begin to ascend from the foundations to form what will soon be the Eurovea Tower, the first skyscraper in Slovakia. What has required years of preparation and hard work with constant liaising with architects, engineers, urban planners and others, including the city and district authorities, local residents and other members of the public, will soon take shape and structure,” said JTRE executive director Pavel Pelikán.

A total of six buildings are to be built, which also include Riverside residences and the Pribinova X and Pribinova Y office buildings. The project also entails the extension of the waterfront promenade and the construction of the Pribinova Boulevard, along with public spaces, playgrounds, and sports facilities.

Apartment sales began in summer 2019 and as of today, 65 percent of the 485 residences in both the Eurovea Tower skyscraper and the Riverside waterfront apartment complex have been sold.
