Approval Won for Software Company's New Headquarters in Sydney
Plans have been approved for Atlassian Central, a project that will cost over US$1 billion and will be built next to Sydney’s Central Station. The project is being developed by Dexus at 8-10 Lee Street in Haymarket, a suburb in Sydney. Plans for the project were originally revealed in June 2020 and were submitted six months after.
Overall, the building will have 39 floors. The ground floor will contain a lobby, retail space, and dinning space. Levels one to six will be used for the Railway Square YHA and the global headquarters for Atlassian will be on levels seven to 39. The five floors at the top of the building will be an open-air environment. This space will include wellness facilities, meeting areas, lounge spaces, dining areas, and planted terraces.
The project was designed by both BVN and SHoP Architects. It will be part of the Central Place Sydney complex which plans to build two other office towers. These office towers were also developed by Dexus, but were designed by Fender Katsalidis Architects and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP.
