A planning application for three skyscrapers in west London have been submitted to the Old Oak Development Corporation. These buildings are the tallest buildings in the Pilbrow & Partners’ masterplan for 1 Portal Way. The three towers, two of which are 51-stories while the other is 56-stories, will be built on the former Dixons Carphone headquarters site along with two 19-story buildings, a 17-story building, and a short seven-story building. The development is owned by Imperial College London and the profit generated will support the South Kensington University.

Overall, the development will provide 1,709 new homes: 564 built-to-rent homes, 384 co-living studios, 310 discount market rent homes, 314 private flats, and 137 affordable homes. In addition, there will be 18,600 to 35,000 square meters (200,000 to 377,000 square feet) of commercial space. This amount depends on if the 16-story building will be a hotel or an office building.

If approved, 1 Portal Way will sit next to 4 Portal Way, a Kohn Pedersen Fox project that features a 45-story and 55-story tower. While 4 Portal Way is not yet built, the Ealing Council already approved its planning in 2020.
