New street closures will affect Ann Arbor as construction carries forward on a 13-story high-rise that is expected to cater to University of Michigan students close to campus. Located at 1110 South University Avenue, The Vic Village South development has been under construction for most of 2022. City officials stated that crews need to reconfigure a tower crane at the work site, requiring the complete closure of one street and the restriction of traffic in one direction for another.

Beginning at 7 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022 East University Avenue between South University Avenue and Willard Street will close traffic from all directions. Simultaneously, the eastbound lane of South University Avenue between Tappan Street and Church Street will also close, briefly extending a closure that has been in place for months where the high-rise is being built.

The traffic restrictions are expected to last until 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2022.

Detours will route traffic around the closures.
