Earlier this week, the Major Food Group (MFG) team behind restaurants like Carbone and the Grill announced a partnership with JDS Development Group to conceive, build, and operate MAJOR.: a new residential-hospitality tower that will rise 319.7 meters (1,049 feet). MFG is best known for its theatrical, expensive odes to classic American restaurant tropes.

Even now, with restaurants in Miami, Vegas, Hong Kong, and Tel Aviv, this project represents uncharted territory for founders Mario Carbone, Rich Torrisi, and Jeff Zalaznick. According to the press release, MAJOR. will include: 259 residential condos, Hospitality use, Multiple restaurants, and nightclubs.

Two different designers are participating in the making of the building: Studio Sofield will be the architect designing the building with the lobby area and residences, and Ken Fulk Inc. will design the food, beverage, and club spaces.
