According to new plans that appeared on a city website the week of July 27, 2022, a 25 story tower containing a 305-room hotel could rise on a long-empty lot on 58-62 East 125th Street. The proposed project, if approved, would include 10683.8 square meters (115,000 square feet) of hotel and more than 1142.7 square meters (12,300 square feet) and 483.0 square meters (5,200 square feet) dedicated to the visual or performing arts. The developer is Moris YeroShalmy, of the Long Island-based real estate company ABCNY.

If built, the proposed 74.7 meter (245 ft) hotel tower would be the latest addition to the growing 125th Street corridor. Other projects in the works include a proposed apartment tower near the Apollo Theater on 126th Street, the Victoria Theater Redevelopment Project on 125th, the future 18-story National Urban League headquarters, a 12-story building planned for 219 West 125th St., and a 21-story tower to be built at 35 West 125th St. A block east on 125th, another developer has filed plans to demolish the historic Harlem Savings Bank building near Lexington Avenue, where he intends to build a multi-story office building.
