Straits Row, an 18-story (54.9-meter) rental building in Printers Row of the South Loop in Chicago, has begun leasing units. Located at 633 South LaSalle Street, the building features 358 private, fully furnished residential spaces within its traditional and co-living units, setting a new standard for attainable urban living with high-quality design.

With a limited amount of new Class A rental units expected to arrive in downtown Chicago for the year 2025, the units at Straits Row account for nearly half of the new inventory arriving in the city this year. The development offers studio to four-bedroom layouts, with co-living spaces designed for affordability and convenience. Each unit includes stainless steel appliances, in-unit laundry, keyless entry, and ample storage. 

Residents will have access to 15,000 square feet (1,394 square meters) of amenities, including a lobby-level co-working space, a fitness and wellness center, club rooms, a private dining room, and a panoramic pool deck with city and lake views. The building also includes 24/7 security, indoor bike storage, and a secure package center.

Straits Row integrates historical design elements reflecting Printers Row’s printing legacy, with a first-floor art installation and future collaborations featuring student artists from local universities. The location provides easy access to public transit, major universities—including Columbia College Chicago, Roosevelt University, DePaul University, and the University of Illinois Chicago—and medical institutions such as RUSH University Medical Center.

Q Investment Partners (QIP), a Singapore-headquartered private equity real estate firm specializing in the multifamily sector, along with project partner Melrose Ascension Capital, a private equity real estate development and investment firm based in Chicago are have developed the project. Early lease sign-ups come with discounted rates and move-ins are set to begin in early February.
