Member Surveys

Member surveys are integral to maintaining a dynamic and responsive organization. They offer insight into member sentiment and can provide data that informs membership-related decision-making. Member surveys also foster inclusivity and engagement, initiating a positive feedback loop that cycles through the process of conducting the survey, reporting demonstrable findings, and continuous improvement.

It had been many years since CTBUH conducted a member satisfaction survey, so earlier in the year a survey was emailed to all CTBUH members, soliciting feedback on awareness and satisfaction with CTBUH benefits and initiatives. The survey was sent in May 2023 and responses were gathered until mid-July.

402 members responded to the survey; they were predominantly engineers (32%) and architects (32%), and 25% of respondents were female. About three-fourths of respondents were from the U.S.A., China, and Europe. Respondents were split with 32% in an executive role in their organization, 42% at the director/manager level, and 26% at the staff/professional level.

68% of respondents were from organizational member firms, 32% were individual members. Individual member respondents were more likely to be newer members than were organizational members.
