As a strong and active member of CTBUH, Langan is a world-class firm with over five decades of experience and one of the go-to engineering and environmental consultants for projects involving complex, technically challenging sites around the globe. Langan’s team of technical experts leverages their experience working on sites that demand fast-track engineering solutions to build strong, highly specialized foundations for tall buildings worldwide. The firm is also recognized as a worldwide expert in soil-structure interaction analyses, numerical modeling, and earthquake engineering.
Clients developing tall towers over challenging geological conditions and in seismically active regions count on the firm to evaluate the foundation performance under the immense weight of massive towers for the life of the building. ADVANCING THE INDUSTRY
Langan proudly sponsored and attended the CTBUH 2023 International Conference in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur last month, 15–21 October. Seth Martin, Associate, presented some of the insights gained and lessons learned while working on various projects in Malaysia for nearly 15 years in his presentation, entitled “A Decade of Foundations for Supertall and Megatall Towers in Malaysia.”
CTBUH Designated Expert Ramin Golesorkhi also represented Langan at the conference, strengthening relationships with leaders focused on developing sustainable, innovative, urban spaces around the world.
PROJECT SPOTLIGHT: KUALA LUMPUR CITY CENTRE
Langan is playing a crucial role in the 100-acre Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) in Malaysia, anchored by the Petronas Twin Towers. As the geotechnical engineer for many of the towers surrounding KLCC Park, Langan has developed innovative and practical solutions to support supertall and megatall buildings in some of the world’s most complex geological settings. The firm has worked on KLCC towers with pile foundations up to 125 meters deep, solidifying them as some of the deepest building foundations in the world.
Construction of this “city within a city” is ongoing, and Langan continues to work with the project design, construction teams, and local engineering firms to bring this dynamic, multipurpose concept to fruition.
