CTBUH CEO Antony Wood Gives Keynote Presentation to International Mass Timber Conference

Antony Wood, CEO of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, delivers the keynote presentation, 1 April 2021, at the International Mass Timber Conference (IMTC), taking place online.

The presentation explores the trends, challenges, and opportunities surrounding the adoption of mass timber in the global tall building industry, focusing on the positive benefits that would be yielded at all scales. The topic is viewed through the lens of “sustainable vertical urbanism,” which calls for increased urban densities enabled by a new breed of tall buildings that are simultaneously resilient, efficient, regionally appropriate, and human-focused.

Visit the IMTC site for event details and registration.

The presentation is connected to, and provides more information about the CTBUH Awareness and Educational Program “Future Timber City,” funded by the USDA Forest Service and the Binational Softwood Lumber Council. The program provides dissemination of best-practice information on the design, technologies, construction, and planning of mass timber buildings and larger timber communities.

If you would like to be involved in the project, or have a suggested case study, please contact Will Miranda at [email protected]
