"The Ark": CTBUH at MIPIM 2023

Tuesday, 14 March 2023 | MIPIM, Albert Edouard Pier | Cannes

”The Ark” (L’Arche) is an unprecedented collective driven by shared values of positive environmental practices that is mobilizing on the Solana 2, a 21-meter catamaran, on the occasion of the MIPIM 2023 exhibition to initiate actions today for future generations. Hosted from 14-17 March 2023, the group questions the many acts of building in the broadest sense: development, building, landscape, etc. and how innovation and new ideas can create influential change on our planet. Motivated by promoting what can be done positively for our environment in the short, medium, and long term, this collective of industry-related companies, start-ups, and non-profit associations have come together under the banner of “ The Ark.”

Moored at the Albert Edouard pier, within the MIPIM premises at the foot of the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, “The Ark” will be a space for reflection and discussion. MIPIM participants will have access the pier to visit and learn more from this collective group, along with invite-only occurrences throughout the week. Solana 2 is a 21 meter catamaran, a sailboat with minimal to no use of fossil fuel-based products*. This is in accordance with the proposed values of the assembly of companies and will be a place for sharing best practices, potential interventions and networking. Conviviality, simplicity and innovation are the key words that will be highlighted during the event. “The Ark” will provide solutions, a sharing of experiences, high-value interventions, and a spirit of openness and friendly interactions.

"The Ark" is a collective of partners, volunteers, and those working in the construction sector.

All Companies Involved:

Because there is not one solution but many solutions, "the Ark" brings together a wide range of complementary skills, capable of providing individual or collective pragmatic responses in the design and implementation of operations that must be exemplary in their intrinsic qualities. Initiated and organized by three main players in the building world, BATI'life, a consultancy and events company that works within the building industry, Clovis, a construction management start-up, and the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH), a non-profit organization. They are supported by the involvement of 14 other partners and stakeholders from multiple backgrounds, who offer the real-estate industry solutions that are committed to responsible building. They are all recognized as specialists in their respective fields.

"The Ark" will offer a context and a framework favoring the enrichment of future practices and projects, by sharing the knowledge and uses of all stakeholders, visitors and service providers* who all contribute to the building of tomorrow.
