CFD and Wind Tunnels: State of the Art

Thursday, 3 October 2019
2:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Copenhagen, Denmark

Join the CTBUH Future Leaders Committee and the CTBUH Scandinavia Chapter for a seminar on the cutting-edge technologies redefining environmental design in tall buildings. International industry experts will present on new state-of-the-art tools used to evaluate wind actions and pedestrian wind comfort, and the upcoming projects they will enable.

Accurate evaluation of wind actions leads to a safer and more efficient building design, as well as reduced construction costs. Physical wind tunnels, for example, have played a leading role for decades as an economical tool that reduces the uncertainty of impacts of wind activity on and near tall buildings.

In recent years, however, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) have been gaining increased attention as computer power advances, allowing for new opportunities and new ways of estimating wind actions. Presentations will dive into the details behind this game-changing technology and its implications for tall building design.

Seats for this free event are limited, so guests are encouraged to RSVP soon!
