In January, CTBUH President Antony Wood chaired the 2024 International Conference Steering Committee meetings held in both London and Paris.

On 18 January in London, held at the Turner & Townsend alinea's "town hall" space in 1 New Change, and nestled in the inspiring backdrop of St. Paul's Cathedral, the enthusiasm and active participation of over 40 colleagues came together at the inaugural meeting of the local steering committee. Focused on the conference's theme "New or Renew," the meeting covered crucial topics such as potential keynote speakers, off-site programs, and the venue for the opening networking reception. The participation was truly appreciated and shows that this will be one of the best conferences yet to come.

_{The inaugural meeting for the CTBUH 2024 International Conference Steering Committee in Paris.}

Following the successful meeting of the London steering committee, the focus shifted to the vibrant city of Paris, where on 23 January, Dr. Wood chaired approximately 20 CTBUH France colleagues gathered for the inaugural Paris Steering Committee meeting. The gathering took place at Cro&Co Architecture/CroMe Studio, which kindly hosted the group. During the meeting, discussions centered around vital conference details, including plans for the one-day Paris leg, keynote speakers, and venue considerations.

In the days after, tours were held of Trinity Tower, the CTBUH 2022 Best Tall Building, Office Winner, alongside visits to other notable tall buildings in La Défense and in central Paris including the iconic Montparnasse Tower with its breathtaking rooftop views, reaffirming the architectural marvels that Paris boasts.

As CTBUH continues to navigate the intricate details of the conference, the engagement and commitment of our partners and colleagues propel us forward. Together, we are shaping an event that promises to be both insightful and groundbreaking.
