The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) Board of Trustees joined the developers of Torre Paseo Colón 2, Grupo Inmobilario del Parque (GIP), in unveiling a commemorative signboard designating the tower as the tallest building in Costa Rica at 101.35 meters and the first building in the Central American country to rise above 100 meters. The ceremony took place at the entrance of the building, where the signboard stands proudly in a vegetated planter.
The brief inauguration ceremony was led by Jorge Luis Salinas, President, GIP; Jorge Gonzalez, Chairman of the Costa Rican Construction Chamber; CTBUH Costa Rica President Victor Montero, Founder and President, Victor Montero Arquitectos; and CTBUH Chairman David Malott. The event garnered significant attention from the press and the general public, and several high-profile figures were in attendance, including the Vice Mayor of San José, Mrs. Paula Vargas.
