On Tuesday, 19 November, CTBUH Europe Director Dario Trabucco presented in Bangkok on Day 2 of the 2024 ASEAN Iron and Steel Forum: Sustainable Steel and Green Construction. Trabucco shared the results of a 4-year research study sponsored by SEAISI in a talk entitled "Life Cycle Analysis: The Implementation for High Rise Building."
A research report soon to be released presents the results of this extensive study conducted by CTBUH on the environmental and cost implications of different types of tall building structures in three cities of the Asia-Pacific market: Sydney, Bangkok, and Singapore. Particular attention is paid to life cyclecost assessment (LCCA), through all stages of construction, including end-of-life considerations. The research was conducted with two objectives in mind. The first is to relay the results of the simulations conducted, so that ready-to-use data can be used to inform better, more sustainable decision-making by the construction industry. The second is pedagogic: the detailed description of the process that has been adopted by the researchers along its phases, beyond ensuring its replicability, informs professionals in the field on how to conduct an LCCA analysis for their own projects.
The South East Asia Iron and Steel Institute (SEAISI) brought together delegates to attend the highly anticipated 2024 Sustainability & Construction Forum in Bangkok from November 18 to 21, 2024. See the full program here.
