About

Dr Paul Toyne leads the global architecture and design practice Grimshaw on sustainability, overseeing their goals of net zero carbon ready designs by 2025 and truly sustainable and regenerative designs by 2030. He has worked all over the world as an environmental campaigner, conservationist - with WWF - and sustainable built environment specialist. He has held Sustainability and Environment Director roles at WSP, Balfour Beatty, and Bovis Lendlease. Paul’s project experience covers all elements of the built environment, from flagship buildings/developments to infrastructure.

Paul’s work on climate change started in the late 1990s looking at its impacts on wildlife with WWF and the IUCN. In 2000s he was appointed a climate change ambassador for the British Council raising awareness internationally on the science and policy requirements.
