Dr. Frederic Waimer studied structural engineering at the University of Stuttgart and received his diploma in 2010. In 2016 he completed his PhD-dissertation on 'Freeform Composite Construction in CFRP and Concrete'. From 2010 to 2015 he was research associate at the Institute of Building Structures and Structural Design (ITKE) where he could follow his interests in complex geometries, fibre composites, programming and digital fabrication by leading several research projects. 2015 he joined the Werner Sobek AG and since 2020 he is leading the office in Vienna. Frederic Waimer has published several articles and scientific papers about his works and received several prestigious awards, including the Hangai Prize in 2013 from the International Association of Shell and Spatial Structures (IASS). He is member of various national and European Codes Committees.
