Monde Condominiums, Toronto
Monde is a 44-story, 550-unit condominium building by developer Great Gulf, which was designed by Safdie Architects and Quadrangle. Recently receiving partial occupancy, Monde is the signature building of the East Bayfront community, which includes buildings designed by other international design firms such as Arquitectonica and 3XN. With entitlements facilitated by Waterfront Toronto, Great Gulf has led the development with Tucker Hi-Rise as the Construction Manager.
The focus of this Construction Tour is the urban placement of a large, new development, the sharing of experiential elements that help make a new condominium home a destination, and architectural and interior finishes unique to Monde. Sherbourne Common Park is the heart of the new East Bay front community and is treated as Monde’s front door, accessible through the striking mid-block connection of the Monde building. This proximity features a café promenade, 19,000 square feet (1,765 square meters) of outdoor and indoor amenity spaces including a fireside lounge, a triple height main lobby with a green wall, and unique extended balconies that maximize the panoramic water, park, and city views.
This Construction Tour will give an in depth look into the details of these elements and their finishes. Hosted by Great Gulf, Tucker HiRise, and Quadrangle Architects, CTBUH Canada is pleased to offer participants guided, small group tours, each demonstrating the features described above. Guests will be hosted by the design consultants who made reality of Moshe Safdie’s vision.
Following the tour, participants are invited to a hosted bar for networking and informal discussions with the Project Team.
**Please note that CSA-approved construction boots are mandatory for all tour participants.
