CTBUH  Malaysia: The Public Realm of Tall Buildings

 
KUALA LUMPUR – On Thursday, 21 February, CTBUH Malaysia hosted a seminar, The Public Realm of Tall Buildings. Speakers at the seminar presented explorations on the relationship between the design and planning of high-rise structures with the life and energy of the city at its feet; public transportation, retail activity, pedestrian traffic, open plazas and parks. Case studies examined key themes and principles of success for high-rise developments which positively reinforce the city. Featuring a keynote address by Ybhg. Dato’ Nor Hisham Bin Ahmad Dahlan, Mayor of Kuala Lumpur, the event was organized with a view to foster a greater appreciation for the urban condition and the importance of the public realm from which our towers rise.
