CTBUH CEO Antony Wood to Present at RICS WBEF Summit

  Monday, 13 May – Tuesday, 14 May 2019
Conrad New York, New York City

CTBUH Chief Executive Officer Antony Wood will join RICS for the 2019 World Build Environment Forum Summit, which annually assembles leading global innovators to discuss the future of cities and the urban environment. This year will feature themes such as future-proofing the urban natural environment against climate change, leveraging technology to help create resilient cities, and exploring how advances such as big data and blockchain will transform our homes and workplaces.

Wood, who has directed the Council since 2006, will be participating in a panel discussion addressing the topic Building for the Future: Modernizing the Construction Industry. In stark contrast with other industries, less than 1% of global construction revenues are reinvested into research and development. Amid promises of emerging disruptive technologies, the construction industry thus finds itself at a critical juncture: will it modernize, or become obsolete? Wood will offer a perspective informed by his professional and academic experience in the field of architecture, as well as his longstanding leadership role at the helm of CTBUH.

The panel discussion will be held on Monday, 13 May, at 12:15.
