Session S3: "Tall Buildings: Adopting an Icon”. This session explored the idea of the tall building as an icon. Arthur Gensler presented the Shanghai Tower, now under construction in Shanghai. Tony Kettle presented his firm’s Gazprom Tower, a proposal for the city of St. Petersburg, Russia. And Clark Manus compared the differing attitudes towards height and tall buildings as seen on the east and west coasts of the United States.
