Roy Denoon, CPP discussed some of the practical aspects of assessing the benefits of incorporating wind turbines, methods of assessing efficiency and optimizing design at the CTBUH 8th World Congress in Dubai. The incorporation of wind turbines into tall buildings is becoming increasingly common as a method of both reducing carbon footprint and making a very public statement about a building’s green credentials. There are, however, a number of considerations that should be assessed in determining the long-term environmental benefits of these incorporations.
