The 12th Annual Awards Ceremony & Dinner was held in Mies van der Rohe's iconic Crown Hall, on the Illinois Institute of Technology campus, Chicago. The 2013 "Best Tall Building Overall" award went to CCTV Headquarters in Beijing.

The 11th Annual Awards Ceremony & Dinner was held in Mies van der Rohe’s iconic Crown Hall, on the Illinois Institute of Technology campus, Chicago. The 2012 “Best Tall Building Overall” award went to Doha Tower in Doha, Qatar.

The 10th Annual Awards Ceremony & Dinner was held in Mies van der Rohe’s iconic Crown Hall, on the Illinois Institute of Technology campus, Chicago. The 2011 “Best Tall Building Overall” award went to KfW Westarkade in Frankfurt, Germany.

9th Annual Awards Dinner
Chicago, Oct. 21, 2010

Held in Crown Hall, on the Illinois Institute of Technology campus, 2011 saw a surprise move by the CTBUH when they announced that the Burj Khalifa had won the inaugural new "Global Icon" award. Regional Best Tall Buildings and Lifetime Achievement award winners
(William Pedersen and Ysrael Seinuk) were also recognized at the event.

The CTBUH Awards Dinner celebrated the Best Tall Buildings and Lifetime Achievement winners of 2009. Including Lynn S. Beedle winner John Portman, Fazlur  Rahman Khan Medal winner, Dr. Prabodh V. Banavalkar, and CTBUH Fellows. The evening included the passing of the CTBUH Chairmanship from David Scott to Professor Sang Dae Kim.

The CTBUH 6th Annual Awards Dinner took a major step up in its scope and format in 2007– expanding in both the number of awards recognized and the number of people in attendance. Set within the atmospheric setting of Mies van der Rohe’s iconic Crown Hall at the Illinois Institute of Technology, over 200 people joined us to celebrate the remarkable achievements of a number of distinguished individuals and project teams.
