Seed Funding Submissions

Universities and Research Institutes from 16 countries Submit Proposals
June 4, 2012 The CTBUH’s first research seed funding initiative has been a tremendous success based on the number of applications received, generating more than 50 proposals from around the world.
The seed funding initiative, sponsored by AECOM, will award $20,000 to help a research team develop a relevant research idea and attract more funding. The winner of the grant will be chosen by the Research Seed Funding Review Committee and announced at the CTBUH 9th World Congress in Shanghai, 19-21 September.

The list of applicants included researchers from Harvard University, the University of Michigan and Tongi University in China, as well as top firms Arup, Skidmore Owings & Merrill and Buro Happold Engineers. The CTBUH 2012 International Research Seed Funding Initiative represents a key step forward for the CTBUH’s year-old Research Division.
