The list of applicants included researchers from Harvard University, the University of Michigan and Tongi University in China, as well as top firms Arup, Skidmore Owings & Merrill and Buro Happold Engineers.
The CTBUH 2012 International Research Seed Funding Initiative represents a key step forward for the CTBUH’s year-old Research Division. It was created to assist researchers in developing projects and ideas to a level to secure more significant, funding, in conjunction with the CTBUH.
“One of our primary goals is to help bring together researchers and funding opportunities to tackle the important issues facing the tall building industry,” said Dr. Payam Bahrami, CTBUH Research Associate. “We would like to encourage the construction industry to collaborate with the CTBUH in developing future research projects.”
