The 2018 Research Seed Funding, sponsored by Sun Hung Kai Properties was awarded tDr. Ye Yu, an Assistant Professor at Tongji University. The objective of the research is to measure the behavioral and health impacts of various patterns of public space around tall buildings, including the ground plane, podium, and the ways in which the building interfaces with the city, with a focus on identifying health-oriented design strategies.

The research project will begin within two months of the award being given and will be completed within a maximum of nine months, at which point a report will be delivered to CTBUH for publication and dissemination. The winning proposal was chosen by the CTBUH’s Expert Peer Review Committee out of 35 total submissions.

Amount: US$20,000, payable in two equal installments – US$10,000 at initiation and US$10,000 at project completion/delivery of final report.
