CTBUH supports Academic Institute Members in conducting tall building design research studios, offering faculty and students unprecedented opportunities to participate in CTBUH International Conferences, lectures, workshops, site investigations, and urban and tall building tours abroad. The funding is typically provided by leading companies in the tall building industry.

This studio explored what the three-dimensionality of cities means for tall buildings and their ability to locate extremely dense development atop major urban infrastructure while also providing quality public space.

Towards Zero Carbon – Chicago DeCarbonization Plan

The participants developed zero-carbon plans for Wolf Point Chicago
with a consideration of 5 different aspects – water resources, waste recycling, vertical farms, low-carbon life, and wind energy.

Tall & Green: The Remaking of Mumbai II

This studio focuses on key issues found in the heart of the city of Mumbai.  Six pairs of students developed real-world projects in a historical neighborhood known as the ‘C-ward’ in the southern portion of the city.
