This publication is inspired by the Advanced Topics in Architecture and Culture annual seminar course convened by Antony Wood at the Illinois Institute of Technology College of Architecture, and undertaken by a select number of graduate/advanced undergraduate architecture students. The course itself explores the link between architecture and the cultural, climatic, political and socio-economic environment in which it is created. The students take the learning from the course as a whole and apply it to a personal investigation into some aspect of “architecture and culture” that interests them. This publication highlights the results of these individual research studies.
