Dr. Gilberto do Valle is the President of Projest Consultoria e Projetos Ltda, a structural engineering firm and consultants for civil engineering works in Sao Paulo, Brazil.  

Dr. do Valle has participated in and presented papers at many technical meetings and conferences throughout the world and has had papers published in magazines and conference proceedings.  Along with serving as Vice Chairman (1991-1993) and Chairman (1993-1997) of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, he is a member of the Engineering Club (Rio de Janeiro), the International Association for Bridges and Structural Engineers where he served as Vice President (1993-1999)), the American Society of Civil Engineers (Associate Member, Member and Fellow), the Instituto Brasileiro do Concreto, the Associacao Brasileira de Pontes e Estruturas (serving as Vice President and President), the Technical Standards Brazilian Association and the Concrete Society (London, UK).  

Dr. do Valle received diplomas from the Federal Council for Engineering and Architecture for outstanding services performed for the Nation (Brazil, 1996) and the Brazilian Portland Cement Association and the National Institute of Technology for his participation in the Improvement Process of Technology of Cement and Concrete in Brazil (1990) and).   

Dr. do Valle graduated in 1954 from the Rio de Janeiro Polytechnic School of the Catholic University.
