The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat was saddened to learn of the passing of Dr. Alan Davenport. Dr. Davenport will be remembered, not only as a pioneer in the application of boundary layer wind tunnels, but as a long-time friend and supporter of CTBUH, serving as a member of the CTBUH Steering Group (1984-1993).

In 2005 Dr. Davenport was presented with the Lynn S. Beedle Achievement Award for his many achievements in the field of wind engineering, meteorology, environmental loads, structural dynamics and earthquake loading. The thoughts and prayers of all CTBUH members are extended to Dr. Davenport’s family.
