Manhattan office building 285 Madison Avenue is undergoing a $65 million repositioning that will convert the vacant property into a premier, state-of-the-art Midtown office destination. One of Houston's oldest and most historic downtown buildings had been sold to The Lionstone Group. The Houston-based real estate investment firm bought 712 Main Street, a 37-story, 784,000-square foot office tower from New York-based Brookfield Asset Management Inc. Read more.

Unit sales have begun for the MARQUE Sukhumvit residential skyscraper project in Bangkok. The 222-meter (728-foot) tower, developed by Major Development Public Company Ltd., was named after the "marquise"-style of diamond cutting, which inspired the design of the faceted, jewel-shaped tower. Wilkinson Eyre Ties Up City Deal

Wilkinson Eyre has won a competition to design a development for the Mitsubishi Estate Company (MEC) in the City of London at a site stretching from 150 Leadenhall Street to 6-8 Bishopsgate. Chinese state-owned property developer Greenland Holdings Group signed a preliminary deal to take a majority stake in Atlantic Yards, Brooklyn's 22-acre (9-hectare) residential and commercial project. Downtown Hartford's landmark Travelers Tower $30 million makeover is well underway, developers report. The renovation involves cleaning the granite, replacing 30 miles (40 kilometers) of mortar between the stones and restoring decorative moldings. OMA has completed the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in the heart of the city's Central Business District. As one of OMA's best-known designs, the 250-meter (820-foot) skyscraper, nicknamed "the Miniskirt," features a three-story podium that has been elevated 36 meters (118 feet) above the ground. Heron Tower has reportedly sealed a ₤370 million (US$594 million) refinancing deal to prevent a sale of the building.
