Above-Ground Work to Start on Kingdom Tower

Above-ground work on the 1-kilometer-tall Kingdom Tower in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, will begin next month, according to Building Design. Construction will start on April 27 and will be managed by UK project managers EC Harris and Mace. Construction is set to take 63 months, finishing in 2019. Read more.


Work Begins on Residential Tower Trio in Jersey City

Waterfront Finance Center Begins Construction in Shanghai

Foster + Partners and Thomas Heatherwick have unveiled images of the Bund Finance Centre, which is now under construction in Shanghai on the banks of the Huangpu River. The 420,000-square meter (4.5 million-square foot) complex will feature two 180-meter (590-foot) office towers at the end of Shanghai's waterside street, The Bund. Read more.


Construction at 181 Fremont Begins

Ground was officially broken on 181 Fremont St., a 54-story, 684,000-square foot (63,546 square-meter) residential and office tower near the Transbay Transit Center in San Francisco. Work has begun on the Ealing Arcadia shopping center, a ₤6 million (US$9.6 million) renovation project designed by Allies and Morrison, which is also set to include a residential skyscraper. BHP Billiton Constructing Its Newest Office Tower

Latest Canary Wharf Tower Given Go-Ahead
