A stalled high-rise development in Chicago's north side will reportedly break ground this fall. Barcelona’s F451 Arquitectura collaborated with Chicago-based Pappageorge Haymes to extend the height and augment the design of the Bluewater 5440 apartment building.
A 17-story version of Bluewater 5440 received approval in 2009, but developers decided not to build the project after the real estate bubble burst, according to Architect's Newspaper.
The recently added landscaped roof will include a pool and gardening space for tenants. The 19-story tower, which will be built from a modular system, will feature 190 units, a spa area and a "party room."
