Designboom has published the latest photos of the People's Daily Headquarters under construction in Beijing. The 100,000-square-meter tower consists of a concrete frame system with large cross beams, and will be one of China's super-tall buildings upon completion.
Professor Zhou Qi of Southeast University School of Architecture won the design competition for the headquarters building in Beijing, designboom reports. "The form began from a sphere, eventually pulled and molded to create three extremities with a concave curtain wall spanning the distance between."
The 150-meter (492-foot) tall building is projected to be completed in 2014.
